When you first meet Brasidas, I chose the options: "We fought together at Pylos", "You deserve Elysium", and "Deimos is alive".įrom the Eternal Battlefield in the Mourning Fields, travel north to the Forgotten Sepulchre marked on your map. However, I’ll try to keep story details as brief as possible, and remember to CTRL + F the quest name you’re stuck on if you don’t want to see everything. Take this as a spoiler warning for the outcome of all sidequests in the Torment of Hades. Some characters’ fates seem to be the same regardless of which path you choose, while you can have a much larger effect on others. With the sidequests, I’ve tested the majority of different paths, and these are the results that I’ve come out with. Where in Episode 1 multiple characters could be affected differently by the main questline, in Torment of Hades the main choices that you’re presented with mostly come in sidequests.Īt this point I’ve played the full DLC through twice - doing things differently each time - and the ultimate result was the same. In this episode of the DLC there only seems to be one proper ending. With Cerberos slain by the hands of the Misthios, Hades tasks them with restoring balance to death by finding four new guardians for the gates of hell. The monsters, beasts, and deities drawn from those mythologies have made for some of the most memorable encounters in Assassin’s Creed. After threatening to depose the queen of Elysium, the Eagle Bearer descends into the underworld, coming face-to-face with its enigmatic and wicked ruler, Hades. The Assassin’s Creed franchise was long known for its emphasis on parkour and stealth gameplay, but the shift to a more RPG-focused Assassin's Creed style in Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla created open worlds that allowed players to explore not only new landscapes but new mythologies as well. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Norse mythology crossover, Fenrir is also an Isu, whom the player must help the Aesir gods to bind and capture in an ultimately vain attempt to prevent the end of the world. Less charming is Fenrir, the giant wolf and son of Loki, the Norse trickster god, destined to kill Odin during Ragnarök. For example, the lesser-known four stags of Yggdrasil are mythological deer who appear in Asgard and by following them, the player can find a treasure. While players familiar with 2018’s God of War may recognize some monsters and mythological figures associated with the Norse pantheon, others may not have heard of the creatures and deities that figure in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The game also includes beasts familiar from Greek legends, whom the player is assigned to kill in the quest “ The Goddess’s Hunt.” These include several creatures felled by the famous hero Hercules (aka Heracles), which, while not among Assassin's Creed scariest monsters, are horrors nonetheless: the Nemean Lion, whose impenetrable skin makes it a tough kill towering Kalisto the Bear and the Erymanthian Boar, whose poison attacks make him one of the most challenging enemies in the game. There is also a particularly tough one-eyed Cyclops to battle, and while Polyphemos of the original Odyssey by Homer does not appear, Brontes the Thunderer is an extremely powerful opponent nonetheless. Playing as either Alexios or Kassandra, players journey through Ancient Greece in Assassin's Creed's biggest map, along the way encountering four bosses drawn straight from Greek mythology. Ancient Greece has one of the largest and most well-known mythologies, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey pulls no punches in setting players against some of its most iconic and powerful creatures.
